Interuniversity Commission for Research on Acupuncture
In 1991 the Institute promoted the constitution of the Interuniversity Commission for Research on Acupuncture, which gathers academicians of various Italian universities with the objective to investigate on the acupuncture research methodology. The Commission organizes annual conferences in collaboration with the Italian Association of Acupuncture and TCM (Atti degli incontri annuali della Commissione 1992 to 2020, Ed. Paracelso).
Italian Group of Research on Acupuncture
The Group, composed of Italian acupuncturists and patronized by the Ministry of Health, organized the activity of the Italian delegation that participated in the IV World Congress of Acupuncture, New York, 1996, with 34 scientific reports (“La ricerca in agopuntura in Italia”, Ed. Paracelso, 1996).
Workshop on Acupuncture Research Methodology
The Workshop, organized in New York in 1996 and coordinated by the Institute, was attended by participants of over 15 countries. It dealt with the range of epistemological problems that emerge when acupuncture undergo scientific investigation.
INARM – International Network on Acupuncture Research Methodology
Born as an evolution of the Workshop on Acupuncture Research Methodology and coordinated by the Institute from 1996 to 2000, INARM was joined by acupuncture experts, epistemologists and research groups from different regions of the world to debate on acupuncture research methodology.
